A wide range of fabrics work well for the Alexis dress: cotton, cotton poplin, washed linen, linen-viscose, linen, ramie, tencel, tencel twill, viscose crepe, double viscose crepe...

 

Go for a fabric with a soft hand for drape, and a crisper hand to show off the dress's many box pleats!

Choose your usual size for the Alexis dress. Make a muslin first to check how the garment hangs!

If you're printing the A4 format at home, start by printing only page 1 of the PDF pattern at 100%, and check that your test square measures exactly 5×5 cm (2×2").

You can then print all the other pages.

To assemble the pattern: every sheet is numbered, and you'll also find markers (grey circles) in the center of each sheet to help you line them up easily. You can either trim or fold the white margins.
